Maine Whitewater Rafting Trips
The Penobscot River – The Ultimate Maine Whitewater Rafting Adventure
The Penobscot River is a True Class V Maine Whitewater Rafting Experience that will challenge the skills of even the most experienced whitewater enthusiast. This 13 mile long adventure is complete with demanding Class V rapids and rewarding with pristine flat water as you relax and float along side Mt.Katahdin!
The Penobscot River is also dam controlled and flows at 1,800-3,600 cfs (Cubic Feet per Second), 7 days a week throughout the season. The Penobscot rafting season is a little shorter due to a smaller water source and typically runs from Late May through Late September. The lower water levels provide for a dynamic set of rapids that will keep you on the edge of your seat all day long!
The Penobscot River is unique in that it has a variety of different style rapids that you will conquer throughout the day! There are rapids such as The Exterminator (V) that are all about power to get through and then there are other rapids, like The Cribworks (V), that are all about finesse and and strategic maneuvers. It is this combination of dynamic whitewater and breathtaking scenery that make The Penobscot River a truly beautiful place!
Penobscot River Trips shuttles both to and from the river along with use of life jackets, paddles and helmets to stay safe on the water. We will stop halfway (on the 1 day trip) for a full homemade BBQ Lunch which is complete with your choice of steak, chicken, fish, hamburger or vegetarian with all of the fixings. We will end our day with a photo & video presentation of your trip that day back at our Penobscot Outpost.! The Penobscot River is a true Class V experience by anyone’s standards with enough adrenaline to get even the most seasoned paddlers going!
